DESCRIPTION

Mount Kilimanjaro Hiking 6 Days via the Umbwe route is a short route that presents challenges as it is very difficult to climb due to its steepness. Due to the rapid ascent, the 6 days of the Umbwe Route trek does not provide enough time to acclimate to the altitude, so it is important to walk slowly. Although the traffic on this route is very light. This route merges with the Machame Route and the Lemosho Route at the Western Gap Approach en route. This trail is very beautiful but also very challenging due to its rock formations and steep drop off.

Today the trek to Barafu Ridge Camp is difficult due to the altitude. Walking time is short as it is steep, so it is necessary to walk slowly to avoid fatigue and altitude sickness. You will hike through the alpine desert with a strong cold wind because there are no trees and you will get close to the Kibo Glaciers. You will have an early lunch and dinner around 5:00 PM and then rest until midnight as you make your way towards the summit of Uhuru Peak.

Day 5: Barafu hut campsite to Uhuru peak to Mweka hut campsite

Then, after an hour's hike along the rim of Kibo Crater, near the snow, the true summit of Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak, is reached. Here you will spend some time to take photos.
