A 9-day Zanzibar tour offers a rich blend of cultural, historical, and natural experiences. You’ll explore the UNESCO-listed Stone Town, with its winding alleys and historic architecture, before relaxing on the pristine beaches of the northern and eastern coasts. Activities often include visiting spice farms, where you can learn about and sample Zanzibar’s famous spices, and taking a dhow cruise for sunset views and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. A visit to Jozani Forest allows for a glimpse of the endemic red colobus monkeys, and you might also take a day trip to the nearby island of Pemba or the dolphin-rich waters of Kizimkazi. Throughout your journey, you'll enjoy a mix of local cuisine and cultural encounters, immersing yourself in Zanzibar's unique heritage and natural beauty.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar

Up on arrival in Zanzibar will pick up from Zanzibar airport and transfer to your hotel for Overnight stay.


Day 2: Stone Town and Prison Island Tour

Stone Town: After breakfast, depart for a guided City Tour in Stone Town for 3hrs where our guide will introduce you to all the buildings of interest and famous viewpoints. Stone town and its buildings are full of history and stories of the old times of Zanzibar, during the Sultans (Arabs), Europeans and Missionaries. Zanzibar has written the history of this beautiful island. You will visit the Anglican Cathedral and the Slave markets, the Palace of the Sultans, Tip Tip’s House, the Old Arabic Fort, Fordham Park and of course the famous Zanzibar Doors in our petite little streets. We will show you Henna Art and bring you to the fruit and vegetable market. So be ready for a walk through the long history of Zanzibar and its numerous streets.


Prison Island: You will get the opportunity to visit the tortoise sanctuary, which contains a large colony of giant tortoises imported from Seychelles in the late 19th century. The average weight of these creatures is 200 kg, and many of them are said to be over 150 years old. There will be a chance to touch the tortoise and take photos. The island is also home to a colony of beautiful peacocks.


Day 3: Safari Blue Tour

You will drive to Fumba from the hotel, from there board on a traditional dhow boat and enjoy the magic of the isolated sand banks and rugged island. A full day sailing around mangroves and snorkeling along some of the best coral reefs Zanzibar. Safari blue is a full day boat trip on a traditional hand build mahogany sailing dhow. Safari Blue explores the Menai Bay Conservation Area, which is home to two different species of dolphins, the Indo-pacific humpback and the bottlenose. A seafood BBQ lunch is served on an island at the sand bank. Mangroves Depending on the tides we may stop in a very special place, where our boats are taking you into the world of an island full of mangroves for a swim. The tidal lagoon has centuries of history stored in its coral. It’s a different swimming experience with warm waters and a stunning location for photographs.


Day 4: Jozan Forest and Spice Farm Tour

Jozan Forest; The Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is a 50 Km2 national park located on Zanzibar Island. It is the only national park in Zanzibar. This forest is inhabited by the Zanzibar Red Colobus, an endemic monkey species that exists only in Zanzibar. Jozani Forest boasts a rich diversity of native wildlife, including swamp forest, evergreen thicket and mangrove. Red colobus monkeys are endemic to Unguja. These monkeys are very playful and you can easily get close to them. Monkeys can be seen frolicking amongst the exotic indigenous flora. Spend some time wandering through the forest and discover its hidden secrets.


Spice Farm Plantation: We will take you on a tour of a farm and explain each and every spice you can find in Zanzibar. You wouldn’t believe it, if you haven’t seen it yourself; did you know that the Cinnamon Tree has 3 different smells? Or green, red and black pepper is the same plant? Would you recognize vanilla and why it is so expensive? After you have finished your tour, fully packed with natural secrets, you have time to buy spices, soaps, and crèmes which are all hand made by the community within the farm, and also enjoy a fun lesson on traditional weaving.


Day 5: Relaxing Day
